What To Expect


Prior to your initial visit…


Prior to your initial visit with Dr. Uecker, he and his clinic staff will review available medical records in order to prepare for your consultation. Please feel free to contact our office with any question or concerns prior to your visit.

On the Day of Your Appointment

On the day of your appointment with Dr. Uecker, you’ll be provided with forms to fill out about your medical and surgical history. Please bring your drivers license/ID, your insurance card, and a list of any medications you are taking as this information will be needed to complete our forms. If you have pre-existing conditions that are being managed by other providers, please bring a list of these provides with you as well.

During your visit with Dr. Uecker, he will review your medical history and any applicable imaging or diagnostic studies that have been done. He will ask about current and previous symptoms and do a focused physical exam to better assess the nature of your condition.

If Surgery is Recommended

Dr. Uecker will discuss the risks/benefits/and alternatives associated with the recommended procedure. If you choose to move forward with surgery, a date for your surgery will be provided before you are done with your clinic appointment. He usually schedules procedures within two to four weeks of your initial consultation. Our clinic staff will be ready with instructions on how to prepare in the weeks, days, and hours before your surgery.

Occasionally, further imaging is required (for example, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRIs) prior to surgery. Our clinic staff is ready to help with insurance authorization and scheduling for any tests that may be necessary to plan for your surgery.

When Your Surgery Date is Scheduled

Once your surgery date is scheduled, you will be provided with a date for a follow up appointment with Dr. Uecker. This usually takes place between one and three weeks after your surgery date.
